Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to by the name Lita Ford) is a British born American guitarist who was as the lead vocalist for The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. The group was admired by their raunchy lyrics and punk-inspired fashion. The band was never able to the band to be an instant hit in the United States, but they gained a lot of acclaim in other nations, especially Japan. Ford embarked on a heavy-metal solo career following the band's broke up in 1979. She began voice lessons, and then released her debut solo album , 'Out For Blood' and 'Dancin' On the Edge. Ford's albums were not very popular and she went on hiatus for a couple of years. The singer returned with her smashing hit album 'Lita which was released in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both became big hits. However, her popularity was not long-lasting and she was absent in the world of music for many years. The album's release Black in 1995 was followed by 15-year wait for 'Wicked Wonderland. Her most recent album "Time Capsule," released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
